Rambling

So basically it has been a bit of a crap year on the whole.

My Dad died.
My 100 year old granny broke her hip and then has been put into a care home where I haven't been able to visit her for months.
Covid happened.
I got a job I have been chasing for years and between Covid, and them being absolutely incompetent, and stuck in their terrible systems, I only lasted 3 months.
All my races were cancelled.

Focusing on the positives;

I have a new girlfriend. She is awesome, and so is her kid.
I did run an absolute shit-ton of miles. (1,559 miles / 2,509km).
I got another job, that I don't hate. They are also bordering on incompetent, but at least they are listening and learning and trying to improve when I tell them things.
I have been going regularly to spinning classes which is definitely improving my bike fitness.
I managed to get selected for two more International events in 2021.

There isn't really much more to add about 2020. I could write a whole essay about the running numbers and what running every day for a leap year did for me. But it would mostly be about what it didn't do for me. I am no fitter, no lighter, no stronger, mostly I am just more fatigued and constantly in pain from my never-healing ankle and my degrading hip.
