I am still crushing the numbers on the three main sports, but that is hardly a surprise when I am running every day, and riding and swimming 5 or 6 days a week.
However, I dislocated my finger at basketball last wednesday and that has put some dents in the others. I can't do yoga or weights as that finger stops me from gripping or putting my hand flat. I have then been lazy about core sessions as I haven't gotten into a proper rhythm with everything.
The first two TPT Turbo training sessions have gone well. I probably need to do some more structured bike training as these really show up how little I am getting from my lazy turbo spins.
I did my first race this year, Banff Duathlon. I took it as an early opportunity to score some points in the Club Championships and to test my fitness. I chose Banff specifically because I raced it last year and gave me something to compare against. Last year, just off the back of getting the screws removed from my ankle, I did 1:52:21. This year, I did 1:32:09. Over 20 minutes faster! If I can carry even a fraction of that improvement through the season I am looking at an outstanding year.
